these offices. >> amy, i think we got your point. mark halperin? >> well, greta, we knew that one of the challenges of writing a book about politics in this day and age a lot of our political discourse through the media and in politics directly has become very partisan. and we were trying to write a book, and we hope we did, it's not partisan. i'm confident we did but there was stuff in here that was not reported not just as aheut the there was a lot not reported by the republicans. we're heartened by the fact the book has received praise from people on the left and the right. sean hannity said some very nice things about the book and so did ed schultz. and the extent that it has won in this realm is that we reported everything that we could find that we thought was germane without fear of or favor. and with an eye towards history and illuminating what happened. not covering things up. there has been a concern, i'll just say quickly that, you know, why wasn't this stuff reported in real time? you know, people aren't going to be forthcoming the way they were with us in the heat of

. he was on greta last night. let's see what he has to say. >> it does clearly state that you have to have reasonable cause to stop someone so what's being portrayed out there is that you can just willie nilly stop someone is not accurate. you have to have reasonable cause. let me put in layman's terms, if i could, we have a seat belt law that if you stop someone for speeding, say, or reckless driving and that person doesn't have a seat belt on, then you can give them a citation. but you can't stop them just for not having the seat belt fastened. see my point? >> so, senator mccain who, by the way, has surged now, according to rasmussen has a 24-point lead in the senate race against j.d.hayworth. he said hey, everybody take a step back, this is not as radical as you think. this is john mccain, he has some experience. that's governor brewer. she's taking drastic action. my feeling is this. what does shakira think? let's go to shakira right now and find out how she feels about the law. shakira? >> i'm in a position to this law because it is a violation of human and civil rights. it

in a somewhat fiery exchange, with greta van susteren on the record. >> i think a lot of people were disturbed about the fact on the eve of the e vote, that two senators meet and president obama promised transparency and all of a sudden, senator ben nelson walk out and suddenly says i'm going to vote on this, and, it wasn't your promise on transparency, it was the president's and i got a special deal for my state and all the other states are standing around, saying, what about us. >> do you think it would have been better i let the bill fail? >> that... i mean, i don't -- >> you are speechless. >> speechless, i don't think -- this is the way it appeared to the american people, is that this senator, senator ben nelson, was for sale. that is the way it looked like and it was a sale, the price of all the other american taxpayers are paying for and many people even in nebraska didn't understand, why he got this. >> greta, lete say this. i kw fox loves to be rate anything that is democratic in nature. but, let me say this: ben nelson is an honorable man, i -- really a good senator and represents hi

of the obama administration. last night on greta's show, governor jan brewer said that janet napolitano knows exactly what's going on in arizona and now she's not paying attention to it. listen to this. >> she obviously is turning a blind eye to arizona. she understands what the situation is. she wrote numerous letters when she was governor to the administration looking for some help and some relief and for her to make the comment that she made that the borders are -- what was it, that the borders are just as secure or more secure than they have ever been. they've never been secure. >> so napolitano knows what's going on but brewer is the one taking action. what's the story behind this? >> yeah, well, brian, it's worse than turning a blind eye. in fact, what janet napolitano, eric holder, both dsh and doj under the obama administration are doing is actively meddling to prevent arizona from enforcing its law. it's not just jan brewer and this particular law have been targets. certainly, the sheriff in maricopa county have been the subject of a witch hunt essentially by obama law enforcement
